About the Electoral Board

The City of Colonial Heights Electoral Board is a three-member body appointed by a majority of the Circuit Court judges, upon recommendation of party chairs, and is responsible for ensuring uniformity, fairness, accuracy and purity in all elections within the city.

The Board is comprised of three (3) members, appointed from the two recognized political parties in the Commonwealth.  The majority of the Board (two members) must represent the political party receiving the highest number of votes in the last preceding gubernatorial election; with the remaining member representing the party with the second highest votes in said election. The Board promotes the proper administration of election laws as well as campaign finance disclosure compliance.
