The Department of Planning and Community Development designed the community assessment survey in order to collect residents’ experiences, opinions, and preferences related to Colonial Heights physical development and its overall impact on their quality of life. The survey ran from September 20, 2024 to November 5, 2024, receiving a total of 751 responses. The department presented the survey results along with recommendations to Planning Commission members at their regular meeting on February 4, 2025. Planning Commission approved of the Community Assessment Survey staff recommendations. The survey results and recommendations were presented to City Council at its February 21, 2025 retreat.
