Petersburg Area Transit (PAT)

Petersburg Area Transit provides local bus transportation to Petersburg, Colonial Heights (Southpark Mall Area), Dinwiddie, and Hopewell. PAT also offers connections to GRTC and Greyhound.

Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) Route Changes:

Beginning on July 1st, 2018, Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) will no longer be serving the Boulevard stops in Colonial Heights and will ONLY be servicing the South Park Mall area using the following stops:

  • Walmart
  • Enterprise Car Rental
  • Marshall's
  • Ruby Tuesday
  • Regal Cinema
  • Harbor Freight
  • Wendy's

Para-Transit Service



ADAADA Paratransit Service
This service is for Senior Citizens, Medicare card holders and Persons with Disabilities (permanent or temporary) living within the city limits of Petersburg, Colonial Heights or Hopewell or ¾ mile of the service areas. The paratransit service operates wheelchair equipped vans providing curb to curb (door to door upon request) service for ADA qualified passengers. 

For 70 Years Old Paratransit Service
This service is available for persons 70 years old or older living in the City of Petersburg, in the City of Colonial Heights, the City of Hopewell.  Patrons using this program may also continue to ride PAT local, fixed route buses for a1/2 fare ($.85 cents).   

The fare cost of the Specialized Transit is $1.75 per one-way trip.  
Reservations for next day service may be arranged by calling the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) administrative offices at 804.733.2413, 24 hours a day. Confirmation will be made the same day or the morning of the next day.  Para-transit service is available from 6:00 a.m. until 6:15pm p.m., Monday thru Friday and 7:00 a.m. until 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. 

The holidays that paratransit services are not in service are - New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
