Assessment Records


The City Assessor's Office is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for each locally assessed parcel of real estate in the City of Colonial Heights. Written documents, deeds, wills, etc. that relate to the ownership of real estate filed in the Clerk of the Circuit Court Office are received and processed weekly by the City Assessor's Office.

Record Availability


You can view records online. Individual real estate records are also available at the assessor's office at 201 James Ave. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. These records provide the following information:
  • Amount paid for the property
  • Assessed value of each property
  • Identification of ownership
  • Image of the property
  • Improvements on or to the property
  • Legal description
  • Location of the property
  • Sketch of the property
  • Transfers of ownership

Property Tax Maps


To assist in identifying and locating parcels of land within the city, property tax maps are maintained in the City Assessor's Office. The maps are updated periodically as deeds and plats are received from the Clerk of Circuit Court Office. The City of Colonial Heights property tax maps are available to the public at the City Assessor's Office during office hours.
