Therapeutic Recreation (TR) uses recreational activities (such as art, games or dance) to help people with disabilities to improve their physical, cognitive and social skills. These activities will be offered to help enhance their recreation interests and participation. Prior to the activity the participant must register and complete a participant profile. Weekly Classes and Activities
Our Therapeutic Recreation program meets every Wednesday from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Colonial Heights Community Center (157 Roanoke Avenue). Classes are themed each week, please see monthly schedule below.

Transportation Services:
As part of our Senior Transportation Services we provide transportation to Colonial Heights residents and have a disability or special needs.
Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (With services being provided from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
- Transportation will be available to and from any Colonial Heights destination and for medical appointments only to and from Petersburg, Hopewell and the Puddledock Road area of Prince George County.
- Services will be administered through the Colonial Heights Senior Transportation division of the Agency on Aging. Registration for services is required and is available by calling Senior Transportation at (804)520-9219.
- There are no fees for transportation services, however donations are accepted.
- It's mandatory that you schedule appointments with us no less than 24 hours before your suggested route. We recommend scheduling as soon as you know you need transportation.
