If I construct a new addition to my home, will it immediately increase the value?
Values do increase between general reassessments when the homeowner builds additions, decks, garages, etc. When the Assessor gets the Closed Building Permit, he visits the property and assesses a new value and a new notice of such value is sent to the owner the month after the permit is closed.
