The Colonial Heights Public Library is excited to announce their final week of Summer Learning Programs starting on Monday July 30.. Contact the Library at (804) 520-9384 for more information.

Jeff Beatman Music & Storytelling - Monday July 30 at 10:00am

Come join the fun with singer and storyteller, Jeff Beatman. Mr. Beatman regularly performs to rave reviews at Barnes & Noble and the Children’s Museum of Richmond. This is a toddler age program. No registration is required.

Building Bridges presented by VDOT - Tuesday July 31 at 11:00am

Come learn about engineering with an interactive program offered by the Virginia Department of Transportation! Find out about different types of bridges and how they are built. Learn about the bridges that VDOT builds in Virginia. Try your hand at engineering by designing a gumdrop bridge. How sturdy can you build it? VDOT will also bring a work vehicle to check out at the conclusion of the program. This program is intended for children in kindergarten -grade 5. No registration is required.

Tampa Taiko - Wednesday August 1 at 11:00am

Join us for a fun-filled, interactive program. You’ll get an introduction to the essentials of Japanese taiko drumming through active hands-on participation on taiko drums. Participants will learn about full-body warm up, proper stance, grip, taiko vocabulary, and a practice piece that combines these skills. Culture, live entertainment, and a chance to play on some great, big drums! FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY! Stay after the program for lunch (for kids up to age 18) and our annual ICE CREAM SUNDAE SOCIAL. No registration is required.
