[ARCHIVED] Colonial Heights Deputy Sheriffs Provide Thanksgiving Gift Baskets

Colonial Heights Deputy Sheriffs Provide Thanksgiving Gift Baskets for Local Deserving Families

For the past two years, the Colonial Heights Sheriff’s Office staff stock gift baskets with everything a family would need to provide for a meaningful Thanksgiving meal.  Each basket not only includes the turkey and all the side fixings, the Sheriff’s Office also provides a $25.00 gift card for a local grocery store in case they missed a special item for that receiving family.

With the help of our local churches, the Sheriff’s Office is provided a list of families most in need within our City. Then, just days prior to Thanksgiving, our deputies not only stock the baskets from their own donations, but they deliver the baskets in person in an effort to give back to our community. This year, the Colonial Heights Sheriff's Office delivered five such baskets and plan to continue this effort each year.

For more information, please contact the Sheriff's Office at (804) 520-9352.
