COVID-19 PUBLIC NOTICE: Testing and Vaccine Information
Everyone in Virginia Age 16 or Older Is Eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine Now!
The purpose of this public notice is to provide our community and residents with COVID-19 updates and resources. It is important that residents read this information to better understand the vaccination process and efforts being made to have the vaccines available. The City of Colonial Heights is part of the Chesterfield Health District. Please understand that the City of Colonial Heights does NOT have the authority to make decisions on vaccine availability and distribution to the general public. For any questions regarding COVID-19 Testing and/or Vaccinations, please read the information below and click on the links that will best assist you.
The Statewide Pre-Registration System for the COVID-19 Vaccine is Live!
Virginia Residents and workers can now sign up (pre-register) to get a COVID-19 vaccine through our new Statewide Vaccine Pre-registration System. They can sign up on online 24/7 through the website at
vaccinate.virginia.gov; or by phone 8am-8pm 7 days a week by calling the
1-877-VAX-IN-VA. ( 877-829-4682)
Use Vaccines.gov to find a location near you, then call or visit their website to make an appointment.
IMPORTANT VACCINATION UPDATE (APRIL 28, 2021):
The Chesterfield Health District is now Vaccinating Phases 1A, 1B, 1C, and 2. It is important that everyone in Phases 1A, 1B, 1C and 2 get pre-registered. In some communities, it could be days, not weeks, until you are contacted to schedule an appointment for your vaccine. If you fall in these groups and have not received an invitation to schedule an appointment, make sure you are pre-registered and your information is up-to-date by visiting

by calling 1-877-VAX-IN-VA.
Go to this Vaccinate Virginia link and “Verify & Update Your Record” (red tab) to ensure your information is updated and correct. If you are pre-registered, please be sure to check your Email and answer your phone. These are the ways you will be contacted to schedule you for a vaccination.

COVID-19 Testing Information
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) provides COVID-19 testing information including who should be tested, how to be tested and the types of tests available. To locate testing sites, view the testing sites map.
COVID-19 Vaccine Information
Anyone over the age of 16 interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine is now eligible.
With the increase of the widespread availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and the goal to vaccinate as many people as possible, the VDH Chesterfield Health District is encouraging residents to use VaccineFinder.org to schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine. The VaccineFinder website, which has a searchable map-based tool, allows individuals to find appointments for a COVID-19 vaccine near them.
If an individual has pre-registered on Vaccinate.Virginia.gov and has not been contacted to schedule an appointment, CHD is recommending they go to VaccineFinder.org and schedule an appointment. The VDH health districts hosting vaccine clinics will be listed on VaccineFinder.org along with pharmacies and doctor's offices that have the vaccine available to administer.

COVIDWISE is Virginia’s official exposure notifications app that lets you know if you’ve likely been exposed to another COVIDWISE user with a positive COVID-19 test result.
