Description:
Sealed bids, subject to the plans, specifications and conditions contained herein, will be received in the City of Colonial Heights VA Finance/Purchasing Department, until but no later than 2:00 PM EDT May 18 2018, for the tennis court project, located behind Colonial Heights High School, 3600 Conduit Road, in Colonial Heights VA. 

The project consists of demoing the four existing tennis courts and constructing two four court batteries. 204' x 12' each separated by a 5' wide concrete walk. This project also includes all fencing and new lighting.

The successful bidder shall commence work within seven days after the Notice to Proceed is given by the City.  Once the notice to proceed has been issued, the successful bidder shall complete all the work by October 1 2018.  

The successful bidder will be responsible for providing to the City:
  • A Site Plan.  This site plan will be approved by the City and then forwarded to the City's Planning Commission for their approval.
  • An Erosion & Sediment Plan
  • Electrical drawings
A pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday May 9 2018 at 11:00 AM at the tennis courts, located behind the Colonial Heights High School, which is located at 3600 Conduit Road.  While this pre-bid is not mandatory, it is highly recommended that if you are thinking about bidding on this project, that you attend this meeting to look at the job site.

Qualifications:
The contractor for this project, must be certified in the Certified Tennis Court Builder Program, which was developed by the ASBA (American Sports Builders Association), to help raise professional standards and to improve the practice of tennis court construction. Certification in this program demonstrates a high level of expertise in tennis court construction.
