  • The Mayor receives an annual salary of $11,000 with the remaining six members of council receiving an annual salary of $10,000.

  • Regular meetings of City Council are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm and work sessions are usually held the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in City Council Chambers at 201 James Ave. Special meetings may be called at City Council's discretion.

    Meetings are open to the public.If you are physically disabled, hearing or visually impaired and need assistance at these meetings, please call the City Manager's office at (804) 520-9265 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.

  • To be placed on the Council agenda to formally address an issue, a letter should be sent to the City Clerk requesting that you be placed on the agenda. The topic of discussion must be specified and should be received the Wednesday prior to the meeting on the following Tuesday. Send letters to:
