Does the library accept book requests?
Yes, we do accept requests for books and audio CDs. Fill out our
Online Request Form
or visit the Library to fill out a form at the circulation desk.

How do I apply for a library card?
You may download our
Library Card Registration Form
and bring it to the circulation desk at the Library. The process only takes a few minutes, and requires a photo ID along with verification of residency. Library cards are free to residents of the City of Colonial Heights and also free to residents of Chesterfield County by reciprocal agreement. Library cards are available to non-residents for an annual fee of $25.00.

What if you don't have the book I need?
Each request is reviewed and purchased based on popular demand. If it is an older title we will submit the request to another library for Interlibrary Loan purposes.

Does the library offer wireless internet service?
Yes, the library offers wireless internet service. A high-speed internet connection is available anywhere in the library.

May I bring in my old books to donate to the library?
Donations of books are gratefully welcomed and may be dropped off at the library at any time. Donated materials become the property of the Library and may be added to the collection or sold at the Library's discretion. Receipts acknowledging donations are available. The Library does not assign a monetary value to donations.

Does the library have a public computer center?
The library's
Public Computer Center
is open to those with library cards, and provides users with Internet access and a full array of office suite applications. There is no need to make a reservation and there are no limits on how long a person may use a computer. There is a cost of 10 cents per page for printouts from the computer center.

Do you have a meeting room for public use?
The library's meeting rooms are available to Colonial Heights-based non-profit organizations. Visit our

Do you have a copy machine?
A photocopier is available to the public at a cost of 10 cents per page.

Do you offer children's programs at the library?
The library offers year-round story hours and reading programs for children. Please visit our Children’s Programs webpage for additional information.

Does the library have opportunities for volunteers?
Please visit the library and request a volunteer application, we accept volunteers on an "as needed” basis.

What kind of media do you offer in your collection?
The library collection includes books, audio CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray DVDs, and magazines.

Does the library have a book sale?
The library has an ongoing book sale that includes books, audio and video material.
14.
Do you have online reference material resources for academic research?
Yes. Our online electronic resources offer an extensive collection of subscription databases not available on the open Internet. These databases provide access to thousands of full-text magazines and journals, e-books and educational search engines, and are particularly suitable for students from the elementary grades through college.
