**Arrest Update**

Colonial Heights Police Make Arrest For Attempted Murder On January 25, 2019, the Colonial Heights Police Department, with the help of the U S Marshal Task Force, arrested James Reid, 33 years of age, of the 500 block of South Dunlop Street, Petersburg, Virginia, for multiple charges including Attempted Murder. Charges are the result of an incident that occurred on January 19, 2019 at 11:45pm in the 100 block of Carroll Avenue. On this date, police responded for an individual in the front yard of a residence that had been shot. Once on location, officers located a 40-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with injuries that were considered life threatening. The suspect fled the area, but was quickly identified by Colonial Heights Investigators. Reid has been charged with Attempted Murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place. Reid is currently being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail pending his next court appearance in Colonial Heights on April 3, 2019 at 8:30am.
