The Colonial Heights Public Library has announced their first Summer Learning Programs for 2018. Limited spots are available for the following programs, register online at links provided.
The American Red Cross program brings emergency preparedness to kids between the ages of 8-11.

Healthy eating was never this much fun! 45 minute sessions that rotate students to 3 different cooking stations as they learn how to make a tasty and nutritious breakfast: pancakes, fruit compote, and sparkling orange water. Edible Education’s trained chefs provide step-by-step, age appropriate, hands-on instruction for your kids, which makes learning to cook real food fun for everyone!
Youth through age 18 are invited to enjoy a free, fresh lunch at the library on Mondays and Wednesdays between 12:00-1:00 p.m. during our Summer Learning Program dates of

Volunteers from the audience will help explore the fascinating science behind chemical reactions, combustion, air pressure, inertia, and more. Whatzit? Is an entertaining and hands-on program that allows participants to expand critical thinking skills through an artifact identification program. Youth use their senses to identify objects, trying to discover who used these objects, how they were used, and why they were important. Museum educators will reveal the items’ interesting uses and purposes and put them into historical perspective. No registration is required.
