65th Annual Christmas Parade

This year’s 65th Annual Christmas Parade – a longtime Colonial Heights tradition – will occur on Tuesday, December 5 on the Boulevard starting at 7:00pm. Originated in 1953 by the Colonial Heights Optimist Club, the nighttime parade is a unique event that draws people from all over the Tri-Cities area. Since 1961, the parade has been organized by the Colonial Heights Jaycees - making the parade a true community event. Beginning in 2014, the City of Colonial Heights assumed management of the Annual Christmas Parade.

Among city staff, the primary coordinator of this year’s Parade will be the Recreation & Parks Department. All inquiries regarding the Parade should be made through the Department by calling (804) 520-9390 or by emailing the following address:

This year the parade will begin at the Temple Ave and Boulevard intersection and continue south on the Boulevard ending at the Colonial Heights Courthouse. The Boulevard will be closed southbound at Lakeview Ave and two lanes will remain open northbound from Temple Ave. For more information on this year’s route please contact the Recreation and Parks Department at (804)520-9390.
