CERTLogo

Colonial Heights residents are invited to attend training that will help them overcome the effects of a disaster. Colonial Heights’ popular Community Emergency Response Team, or CERT, training will begin on June 6, 2017. There is no charge for the course, which is open to the first 20 persons aged 18 and older who apply. The deadline to enroll is June 1, 2017.

The training course is being held on four nights and two Saturdays. The training provides participants with basic emergency response skills that are essential in the critical time after a disaster occurs and before first responders arrive. Topics include: light search and rescue, fire safety and suppression, basic and advanced emergency care, terrorism awareness, and disaster psychology.

Graduates earn certificates and receive CERT emergency gear, including a backpack. More than 100 people have completed Colonial Heights' CERT training. We want you to join our team as well!

Registration forms are available online at the link below.

Colonial Heights’ CERT Program is sponsored by the Colonial Heights Local Emergency Planning Committee/Citizen Corps Council. For more information, contact Beverley Brandt, Emergency Manager and CERT Coordinator, at 804-524-8773 or by email at brandtb@colonialheightsva.gov.
