COVID-19 Updates and Vaccination Information


The purpose of this public notice is to provide our community and residents with COVID-19 updates and resources. It is important that residents read this information to better understand the vaccination process and efforts being made to have the vaccines available. The City of Colonial Heights is part of the Chesterfield Health District.  Please understand that the City of Colonial Heights does NOT have the authority to make decisions on vaccine availability and distribution to the general public. For any questions regarding COVID-19 Testing and/or Vaccinations, please read the information below and click on the links that will best assist you.

COVID-19 Testing Information

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) provides COVID-19 testing information including who should be tested, how to be tested and the types of tests available. To locate testing sites, view the testing sites map

Additionally, Chesterfield Health Department holds free testing events each month. Residents who may be experiencing COVID-19 symptoms as defined by VDH or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are strongly encouraged to attend the free indoor, walk-up testing events. No reservation is necessary.

 

COVIDWISE is Virginia’s official exposure notifications app that lets you know if you’ve likely been exposed to another COVIDWISE user with a positive COVID-19 test result.

Please Note: High Call Volume

Please know that health department staff are working hard to meet the demand. Due to the high volume of calls to the COVID-19 Call Center, wait times are longer than normal. We appreciate your patience.

Also, due to challenges with the vaccine supply chain in the United States, vaccine distribution across the Commonwealth has been significantly reduced. Therefore, please expect wait times of days to weeks between when you sign up to be vaccinated and when you are contacted for an appointment.
