YOUTH SERVICES COMMISSION

Purpose and Mission

The Youth Services Commission is a fifteen member advisory board appointed by the Colonial Heights City Council. The Commission provides for continuing study of the needs and problems of youth; coordinates a network of existing youth services; facilitates access to existing community services for youth and promotes additional services needed; discourages overlapping services; reduces alienation between youth and social institutions; increases access to satisfying roles for youth; and advises City Council and other groups on how to deal with problems affecting the youth of the City.


Meetings

The Youth Services Commission meets the third Monday of every other month from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Anyone interested in serving on the Youth Services Commission may apply through the Office on Youth or through the City Clerk's Office.
